GUITARIST ADAM HAWLEY ACHIEVES A PERFECT “FIVEFECTA” OF CHARTTOPPING HITS!

Breakthrough Urban Jazz Star Scores His Fifth Consecutive #1 Smash on the Billboard Smooth Jazz National Airplay Chart With “Traveling Mood” Featuring Julian Vaughan

Adam Hawley’s in a “Traveling Mood” these days, flying high in the penthouse again with his incredible fifth consecutive #1 contemporary jazz smash!

Spearheading a fresh new generation of urban jazz artists, the multi-talented composer and guitarist’s latest hit, feat. bassist Julian Vaughan, has been in the pole position on Billboard’s National Smooth Jazz Airplay chart and Smooth Jazz Songs chart for four weeks and counting.

Earlier in 2018, Hawley hit the top spot with “Can You Feel It” feat. saxophonist Marcus Anderson, the first single from his second full length album Double Vision, released by Kalimba Music, the independent label founded by the late Maurice White.

The guitarist started his record-breaking string by scoring one of the format’s biggest hits of 2016 with his debut single “35th Street” (feat. saxophonist Eric Darius), which enjoyed a three week run in the pole position. Hawley followed up with the #1 singles “Joy Ride” and “I Don’t Mind.” All three tracks were from his hit debut album Just the Beginning.

‘This out of the box success couldn’t have happened to a more talented, deserving artist,” says Ted Joseph, a former Warner Bros. executive and label manager for Kalimba Music who signed Hawley, spearheaded his distribution agreement with Entertainment One and has helmed his marketing campaign, including radio promotion and PR.

“Besides being a pure joy to work with, Adam is an incredible, multi-talented artist who represents the bright future of the genre,” he adds. “While we’re thrilled with the five consecutive #1s to start his career, we know this is just the beginning of the journey for him and his amazingly dedicated fans. I am so grateful to be a part of ‘Team Adam’, the wonderful group of industry veterans working on his behalf to help him take this to the next level. His meteoric rise has been so exciting to experience and be a part of.”

Under Joseph’s fresh and innovative guidance, Ted has developed Kalimba into a powerful independent force in the genre, with an approach that blends dynamic traditional and contemporary strategies. Two other emerging artists on the label’s roster, keyboardist Greg Manning and saxophonist Paula Atherton, have achieved impressive early success as well. Manning’s single “Cruisin’ Down the Road” hit the Top 5, while Atherton’s “Remember When” made the Top 10. Manning followed up that initial success earlier in 2017 with his Top 10 hit “Round and Round.”
