Ted Joseph – Music Business Executive/Consultant
A Senior level executive offering outstanding presentation, communication and cross-cultural team management skills. A High-energy, results-oriented leader with an entrepreneurial attitude, and Corporate culture skills.
Tireless in his efforts to break new major label and indie artists and take legends to the next level, Ted Joseph’s more than three decades as an executive in various executive capacities in the music industry have given him a unique dual expertise.
Learning the ropes of marketing, radio promotion, sales and distribution via the “traditional ways” of doing business, Ted has, as an independent consultant in all of these realms (as well as budgeting and overseeing publicity efforts) in the 2000s and 2010s, become a leading cutting edge force in the “new world” of the digital download and streaming age.
Ted has a proven track record in the development and cultivation of overall marketing distribution strategies and product exposure, which has resulted in exceeding the sales goals and market shares for many artist campaigns.
Throughout his multi-faceted career, including over 20 years with Warner Bros. Records and Warner Distribution and many more as a consultant for Sony Music, EMI/Capitol, BMG Distribution, Sony Distribution, Universal Distribution and Warner Music Group, Joseph has contributed to and been associated with over 100 gold and platinum status recordings for artists in a wide range of genres, from pop and urban to contemporary jazz and country.
Over the years, he has developed overall marketing campaigns for Alicia Keys, Kanye West, Cheryl Crow, Usher, Mariah Carey, Linkin Park, Fergie, Taylor Swift, Adele, Lady GaGa, Bruno Mars, Robin Thicke, John Legend, Drake, Madonna, Van Halen, Rod Stewart, Trace Adkins, Seal, Prince, Quincy Jones, Al Jarreau, Earth Wind & Fire, Jennifer Lopez, R Kelly, Justin Timberlake, Usher, Kenny Chesney, Norah Jones, Green Day, Adam Hawley, Lisa Addeo, Bryan Haraway and many others.
Among his official executive positions, Ted Joseph-a Detroit native who launched his career as a merchandiser in his hometown-was Senior VP of Marketing at Warner Bros. and President of Odds On Records, an independent label in the late 2000s that helped ‘80s pop duo Air Supply score their first Billboard hit since 1993 and broke other artists like the electronic dance group Ultraviolet Sound (UVS), featuring singer/songwriter Sarah Hudson.
